Who is ALICE?
ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) is the term used to help us define and understand the struggles of those households that earn more than the federal poverty level but less than what it takes to make ends meet. ALICE are those hard-working members of the community dealing with the pressures of economic instability, particularly when a hardship or unplanned expense arises.
United Way partners with numerous organizations to provide support to ALICE families by connecting them to resources to address barriers and assisting with financial literacy, education, and workforce readiness. With the help of a few friends, we are hosting a special fundraiser, the proceeds from which will support ALICE families working and living in Lewis County.
Cow Kissing for ALICE, presented by Marks Farms and CDPHP, is an easy and fun way to help someone who is struggling. Vote with your donation today, and make a difference in the life of someone working hard to get ahead.
