At United Way of Northern New York, we believe in investing where it matters most—right here in our communities. That’s why we’re proud to announce that the Community Impact Grant portal will open on July 28, 2025 for the upcoming 2026 program year.

Community Impact grants support nonprofit programs that make a measurable difference in the lives of people across Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties. Funding is available for initiatives that align with one or more of United Way’s core focus areas:

✔️ Social Determinants of Health
✔️ Child & Youth Success
✔️ Economic Stability

Last year, United Way-funded programs reached 37,637 individuals, roughly 1 in 7 North Country residents. Your support makes this impact possible!

Grants are available thanks to our annual United Way campaign, supported by generous individuals and businesses across the North Country. When you give through payroll deduction or direct contributions, you’re not just making a donation, you’re making Community Impact happen.

Applications will be accepted July 28 through August 29 at 11:59 PM. We encourage eligible nonprofits to visit our grant page in advance to:

  • Review eligibility requirements
  • Preview the application questions
  • Understand the evaluation process and expectations

🙋 Want to Get Involved in the Review Process?

Once the applications are submitted, a group of trained community volunteers will carefully evaluate each one and recommend how funds should be awarded. It’s a transparent, community-driven process, and it’s a key reason donors trust United Way to make a real difference.
