Lunch & Learn UNITED: Motivational Interviewing – May 8

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based counseling approach designed to help individuals navigate ambivalence and discover their own motivation for change. Whether working with clients facing behavioral health challenges, addiction, or life transitions, MI equips professionals with the skills to engage in meaningful, productive conversations that inspire positive change.
This training will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of MI, its core principles, and practical techniques to apply in real-world interactions. Through a combination of theory, hands-on exercises, and guided discussions, attendees will gain the confidence to use MI effectively in their professional roles. This session will be facilitated by Denise B. Wallace, owner of Pathways Unlimited Coaching & Consulting Group.
In addition to her coaching and consulting business, Denise currently serves as the Chief Learning Officer for the US Army Civilian Human Resources Agency. She became a certified executive leadership coach through the Army Coaching Program and works with clients focused on career goals, professional development and personal growth.
