Lunch & Learn UNITED: Community Health in 2025

Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization (FDRHPO), in partnership with the North Country Health Compass Partners, began outreach to community members for the 2025 Community Health Survey in early June. This year marks the 10th consecutive survey in which residents of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties have had the opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives on healthcare in the North Country. This data is valuable not only for stakeholders involved in planning community initiatives and events, but also for empowering residents to highlight both the strengths and areas for improvement within their local healthcare systems. For 2025, new questions regarding social determinants of health (SDOH) have been included to align with the updated New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Prevention Agenda for 2025-2030.Conducted annually, the survey gathers adults’ thoughts and experiences regarding healthcare. Responses remain anonymous and are utilized to evaluate the effectiveness of local programs, identify specific health needs within the community, and develop plans to address these needs.

Meet the Presenter: Kayla Quinn joined FDRHPO in 2023 as our Population Health Coordinator, where she plays an integral role in advancing regional health initiatives. She facilitates the North Country Health Compass Committee, manages and analyzes population health data – including the annual Community Health Survey – and collaborates with partners on their Community Health Assessments (CHAs) and Community Health Improvement Plans (CHIPs) to implement strategies to improve community health.
Kayla holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology, which has allowed her to bring extensive knowledge in research methodologies, data collection, and analysis to the team. In addition to her role at FDRHPO, Kayla serves as an Educational Case Manager with the Caring Gene’s Career Pathways Training (CPT) Program, supporting residents in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties as they pursue education in one of 13 approved healthcare career titles.
