Bridges out of Poverty Workshop

Calling all changemakers for an exciting workshop offered in partnership with the Alliance for Better Communities and Pivot!  Join us for an interactive workshop that provides a myth-shattering framework for understanding poverty. “Bridges out of Poverty” provides a powerful platform for building relationships of mutual respect, working shoulder to shoulder with those living in poverty to develop strategies, and creating a community where everyone can live well. Throughout the day, you will: 
  • Examine the impact of poverty on families;
  • Explore the hidden rules of economic class;
  • Identify ways to build / improve relationships;
  • Develop tools to better address individual needs;
  • Learn more about the local Bridges body of work.
Registration fee is $20 and includes “Bridges out of Poverty” book, morning refreshments, and lunch.  Registration is required, as seating is limited.  Registrants may pay by credit card or request an invoice.  Workshop is based on the “Bridges out of Poverty” material developed by Dr. Ruby Payne, Phil DeVol, and Terie Dreussi Smith. Facilitated by certified trainers Dawn Cole, United Way of Northern New York and Tim Fayette, Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization.
