Community Impact Partnerships

During the summer of 2024, United Way issued a request for proposals for support of Community Impact programs that align with the priority areas of need: social determinants of health, children’s programs and employment supports. Applications were accepted through the month of August 2024 via the online grant portal. In total, 23 applications were received from non-profit organizations providing services to residents of Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties, with requests for funding totaling $287,229. Volunteer community review panelists representative of all sectors, including “Getting Ahead” graduates, carefully reviewed and evaluated applications, after which the UWNNY Board of Directors approved allocations totaling $220,000 in Community Impact grants.

In addition to the Community Impact Programs, UWNNY is proud of enhanced partnerships, providing support to program design and/or fiscal sponsorship of school-based projects with Edwards Knox Central School, Jefferson-Lewis BOCES, Morristown Central School, and Watertown City School.
