Getting Ahead in the Workplace is a free, 16-week workshop designed to help hardworking individuals like you take charge of your career, build financial stability, and create a better future for yourself and your family.

This program is especially for those who are doing their best but feel like they’re constantly juggling bills, job stress, or impossible schedules. If you’re ready for change, this is your chance to invest in yourself, build resources, and strengthen social capital.

Workshop Details

  • When: Wednesdays, 4:00 – 7:00 PM

  • Dates: August – December 2025

  • Where: Flower Memorial Library, 229 Washington St., Watertown, NY

  • Cost: Free

  • Eligibility: Participants must be employed or looking to gain employment.  Space is limited to 12–14 participants. ALICE workers and others navigating financial stress are strongly encouraged to apply.

💡 What You’ll Learn

In a safe and encouraging environment, participants or investigators will explore: building resources, at home, at work, and in the community; improving communication, collaboration, and time management; understanding “hidden rules” and unspoken expectations in the workplace’ budgeting and managing debt; and writing your personal Future Story—and making a plan to live it
