
Lunch & Learn UNITED: Update on the NYS 1115 Waiver Amendment
This presentation will provide updates about New York State’s approved 1115 Waiver Amendment, a $7 billion federal and state investment in improving health equity through New York’s Medicaid program. The Waiver will involve and/or impact numerous stakeholders, including social care organizations (e.g., entities that support Medicaid-insured individuals with food/nutrition, case management, housing, transportation, and/or other supports), clinical organizations, and others. There will be ample time for discussion and questions.Meet the presenter: Joanna Loomis is the Deputy Director at North Country Initiative. She works with clinical and community-based partners to design, implement, and monitor healthcare transformation and value-based contract initiatives in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties. Previously, she worked in several social care roles in the region. Joanna has a M.A. in Social and Public Policy and serves on multiple healthcare and social care related boards and committees. She is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, a trained “Bridges Out of Poverty” and “Bridges to Health & Healthcare” trainer and is certified through the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home Content Expert (PCMH-CCE). Joanna lives in Henderson with her husband, two children, and terrier mix.
