Food Drive Toolkit

A food drive is an easy and effective way to unite friends, family members, and coworkers around a critical need – addressing food insecurity.  Filling a box with food items is a tangible reminder of the impact we can make when we work together to tackle even the toughest of issues like hunger.

On June 5, 2024, a group of volunteers will gather at the parking lot of Walmart Supercenter (20823 State Route 3 in Watertown, NY) to collect and sort donations of non-perishable food and personal care items.  Donations will be accepted between the hours of 8 AM and 2 PM, after which they will be directed to local food pantries and food programs.

We would be honored – and grateful – to work with your business, school, church, or organization on a food drive.  It’s as easy as 1 – 2 – 3!

  1. Collect donated items in boxes placed in heavy traffic areas or entryways of your business / organization.
  2. Count the items collected and complete a brief donation form.
  3. Deliver the donated items to the Walmart parking lot on June 5, between 8 and 2 PM.

That’s when we will leap into action and jump for joy!  We will celebrate your donation with a group photo, promote your effort on our website and social media, and make a fuss over you (you deserve it!).  And the best part?  You will make a big difference in the fight against hunger and encourage others to do the same!

We want the experience of hosting a food drive to be easy and rewarding.  Click through the links below for some helpful tools to get you started.  We’ve even created a shopping list of items that pantries need in order to serve under-resourced families.  Don’t see what you’re looking for … or want us to customize the poster with your logo?  Contact us and we’ll prepare materials for you.
