Lunch & Learn United: Organizational Origin Stories

Do you know your organization’s origin story? Join us for a conversation with the New York State Attorney General’s Office about organizational boundaries, how to expand the parameters of organizational mission, and the rules for a post-updated organization! The Attorney General’s Office will be answering questions and sharing resources on how to study up on your fiduciary obligations and potential liabilities.
Presented by Deanna R. Nelson, Assistant Attorney General In Charge, and C. Michelle McKenzie, Assistant Attorney General. Deanna has been in a leadership role at the Watertown Regional Office of the Attorney General since 2008. She has been integrally involved in overseeing charitable organizations in the Jefferson-Lewis-St. Lawrence region and has prior experience serving as a board member in several local not-for-profits. C. Michelle McKensie has been spearheading the charitable organizations practice in the Attorney General’s Watertown Regional Office since 2021. Michelle is a life-long resident of Jefferson County and has a keen understanding of the value not-for-profits bring to our community.
