Food Drive Toolkit

A food drive is a simple and meaningful way to bring friends, coworkers, classmates, neighbors, and community members together around a critical need: addressing food insecurity. Filling a collection box with donated food and personal care items is a tangible reminder of the impact we can make when we work together to support local families.

When school is out, many children lose access to regular meals. The Community Food Drive helps fill that gap by collecting donations for local food pantries and food programs across the North Country.  This year’s collection events will take place:

Jefferson / Lewis Counties

June 3, 2026
Walmart Supercenter
20823 State Route 3, Watertown, NY
Donations accepted from 8 AM – 2 PM

St. Lawrence County

June 17, 2026
Walmart Supercenter
7494 US Route 11, Potsdam, NY
Donations accepted from 8 AM – 2 PM

We would be honored—and grateful—to work with your business, school, church, or organization on a food drive. Hosting a drive is easy:

  1. Set up a collection box in a high-traffic area.
  2. Encourage donations of nonperishable food and personal care items.
  3. Deliver your donations to the appropriate collection site on event day.

That’s when we leap into action! Volunteers will sort and distribute donations to local food pantries, and we’ll celebrate the incredible efforts of community partners like you. We love sharing photos, recognizing participating organizations, and highlighting the impact we can make together.

We’ve created the tools below to make hosting a food drive simple and rewarding, including flyers, collection box signage, promotional materials, donation forms, and a suggested shopping list of high-need items.
