The shelves at Jefferson County's 19 food pantries will soon be re-stocked thanks to the generosity of the community.
Friday was the United Way of Northern New York's annual food drive.
Some of the major contributors included Northern Federal Credit Union, Watertown Savings Bank and Price Chopper.
They rolled in truck loads of food to be distributed.
"This is just a great feeling because everything helps locally. So it's just a great feeling when we were loading the truck as full as it was," said Bob Kennedy, Price Chopper manager.
"If we work together, if live united, and we all think about how we can help each other, we all live better when we all give together and this is evidence of it," said Bob Gorman, United Way.
The United Way will have its annual kickoff event next Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Dulles State Office Building.
The United Way will be giving out its Macsherry Community Spirit Award, which our very own Mel Busler won last year.
